Using VLC Media Player to capture a screencast

VCL media player is the best on the planet and everyone knows about it but this is another one of the unknown stuff about it !

Open up VCL media player.

In the Media Menu , hit the advanced open file

In the Advanced open file , change the tab to Capture Device and in Capture mode , put it to desktop
Change the frame rate to 30 fps for optimal quality .

and hit the Convert button instead of the paly button .

Select the destination where you want the saved file to be and you have an youtube quality HD screencast.
